In this blog post I’ll share with you the benefits of using Canva for your blog posts and how you can easily use Canva to create professional images.
Knowing how to get images; how to make them and what to do with them, can sometimes be a little bit of a headache.
“Which images can I use?”
“Where can I get images for free?”
“How do I attribute the image to the right person?”
There are ways to find royalty free images or even pay for images using images like Shutterstock, but what if you could create all your own images so you never have to worry about these things again.
The great thing about Canva is that not only can you create your own images, but you can start to build images in a certain style, colour and brand. You can use the same typology, backgrounds and build a portfolio of different documents with the templates. Whether it’s a range of social media images, e-books, brochures, flyers, posters and more.
In this 25 minute video I’ll show you all about using Canva for your blog posts even seeing how I pulled together the image I’m using in this blog post and what my creative process is really like! Warts and all.
Hope you have enjoyed the video, please tell us your experience of using Canva or other image making tools in the comments and share with your friends and followers if you think they would find this post useful.

Although I love Canva, I’ve used Photoshop for years and have it open nearly all the time. Saying that I found all the fonts that are built into Canva and installed them on my PC so I can use them in Photoshop.

I’d do at least a basic course first as Photoshop was the hardest program I’ve learned. I can normally work things out myself. My son, age 17 at the time, had to get me started with it. 13 years on I decided to get into Illustrator and, even though many of the commands are the same, I got lost. I ended up doing a Lynda.com course.

Canva is a great too. Over at Shutterstock we are also building a design tool called Editor. Even if you have never used Shutterstock for images you can use the Editor tool for making free designs and social posts. Check it out here: https://www.shutterstock.com/editor/template/?panel=template
