I’m introducing a new thing!
If you are in my Simple Blogging Network Community Group. You might have seen that I’ve added a new image asking members to share their goals for the month ahead. I believe that when you take the time to identify your goals and then share them with others, they have more chance of coming to fruition.
What’s more, when you have an accountability partner – or in our case lots of accountability allies, we can help make things happen. Here are a few reasons why having accountability allies for your blog and business can be a really great idea.
Fresh Thoughts and Ideas
Sharing your goals with others and then discussing how you will make them happen can help give you lots of fresh ideas. Others may have been in similar situations and you might be surprised at the direction you choose to take as a result of a quick conversation with others accountability allies.
Constructive Feedback
If you create something new, want to share an idea, or have questions about your blog and business. You’ll get some really great feedback from the accountability allies before you finally decide on what your final product, service or something else entirely will look like. Think of it as a place to doing your market research.
Be more Focused
Just outlining your goals for the month ahead will mean that you are already focusing and drilling down on those tasks that need to be tackled. As you progress through the days and weeks ahead you will be able to see what’s working and what’s not.
Staying on Track
Feeding back regularly to the group, will help to keep you on track. If you’ve said you’ll do 5 blog posts and you’ve only done 1 this month, telling the group about the whys and hows will help re-evaluate what’s working or not.
Tackling Challenges Together
Teamwork makes the dream work. Cheesy I know but, 500 heads is definitely better than one head. Great accountability allies will be able to tackle challenges much faster then you could ever do alone and even better than that, we’ll all celebrate together when you hit that next big milestone!
Share your woes
Whilst community accountability allies are supposed to be up beat and positive 95% of the time. Sometimes it’s good just to get things of your chest. Having a little moan about why something isn’t working in a supportive environment can sometimes open doors, opportunities and solutions.
If you are ready to join a community of bloggers and small business owners from all over the world and you want to have that safe haven of sharing your goals, learning, helping, supporting and having a jolly good time. We’d love to have you join us in the community. Simply register below and I’ll look forward to welcoming you to the community.

So true, having some accountability allies can make a real difference. It can keep you going, keep you more focused and when you need help, provide a forum to bounce ideas around.

Hi Beth. Hey, I think accountability partners is a great idea. So much of what we start doesn’t get finished. We get distracted, we get lonely, we get bored. Having someone hold your feet to the fire, so to speak, is a good thing. You’re doing a lot of good for bloggers. Keep it up!

Thanks DeeDee,
So glad you agree and thanks for coming back and leaving a comment again,
Beth 🙂

Hi Beth,
Can’t argue with any of your observations in this thoughtful post. (Not that I’d want to;)
BTW, I don’t consider ‘Team work makes the dream work’ cheesy at all. Plus, it’s one of my favorite statements you’ve made. Good job, thank you,
Edward

Goal setting is extremely important. The we use time is so interesting as humans. Days bring a fresh slate, but so the weeks, months, seasons and years. Truth is there no perfect time to strive for better, it’s a constant battle.
Thanks for a great post,
Matt.

Wonderful idea Beth! I have worked with both individual partners and teams and, for the most part, they’ve been wonderful experiences. Can’t emphasize enough the importance of taking the time to find the right partner! Thanks for the inspiration. 🙂

Hi Beth,
I think that’s a great idea – and hope it’s going well for you.
November and December are pretty awkward months for me, because of family commitments so those are my top priorities (plus it’s already half way through November when I found this article.
But having an accountability partner could be just what we all need to make a good start to the new year.

Hi Matt, I agree about goals setting and how we use our time as humans. I’m reading a book at the minute called 12 week year! It has some interesting approaches 🙂 I’ll be sure to report back soon.

Hey, Beth and everybody else.
I’m really struggling to find an accountability partner/group for myself. I wanted to join yours, but I don’t use Facebook. Maybe you know someone in your community that would like to exchange a weekly email or start a skype group?
Thanks for any help,

Hi Saul,
Thank you for your comment. Have a think about where you do hang out on line. I’m sure you will be able to find someone who wants to do weekly emails or skype groups. Or you could try Google+ and do Google Hangouts together. Good luck finding your accountability partner in 2017.

Thank you Beth…Great idea about accountability. It may work for some but not all. I enjoy our blog community it keep me accountable to do a little of what I need to do and it has help me to stick to doing weekly content which is a good thing and that is because I enjoy reading other blogs. In other things I would not be the one. Thanks for the tips.
Have a great week
