Howdy bloggers of the internet. It’s 9.27am here in the UK on the 31st of December 2016 and I’ve spent the last 2 weeks planning the backside out of what will be my 2017. And whilst I am very pleased with myself that I’ve got a handle on what I’m going to be doing pretty much every week of the next 365 days! I can’t help but think I’m going to miss the haphazard letting life happen to me malarkey!
Ahh…I’m sure I’ll get over it.
I mean I’ve always been organised, I have project management background I make lists and I journal weekly, but this is another level. Literally I’ve turned in to a planning monster!
HA
But anyway 2017 is a 1 year and it’s all about planning and planting seeds for the future. So I’m going to keep ploughing forward with my new plan of attack and I’m going to be resting on my intuition lever more in 2017.
So I’m figuring this is the right thing to do.
My word of the year is FEARLESS!
I encourage you all to pick a word to represent your LIFE (and BIZ if you have one.) It can be two separate words if you like. But I need to be fearless in both areas so I’m using it for both.
This is going to be the year where I don’t give a monkey’s flip flop about what anyone else thinks about me. I don’t need anyone else’s approval. So I’m not going to hold back on doing a Facebook Live because someone might not like my eyebrows.
This year is about bedding down who I am. I have so many facets that I’ve always found it hard to be my whole self; if that makes any sense at all. I blog about blogging, but then I’m also incredibly spiritual and I also have my offline business acumen and then there’s my creative, singing, art, poetry etc.
So I need to find a way to bring it all together.
I’ve chosen 200 goals for the year using the Leonie Dawson planners. Some big some small. Some I’ll achieve and some I wont. But that’s not the point. The point is that I’m going to keep moving forward.
Also inspired by Leonie, I’ve also created ‘ritual days’ Some BIZ related and other LIFE related; including; Massage Mondays, Fresh Flowers Friday, Poetry 14th, Date Night Saturday (Not told Tony that one yet!) And 7 things I’ll do every day which I’ve called MADCAST which stand for:
- Meditate
- Affirmate
- Drink (Water)
- Community (interaction)
- Audible (listen to a book)
- Smoothie
I’m working on my mottos for 2017 as we speak but inspired by watching the Eddie the Eagle Edwards movie 2 nights ago I can’t get: “What would Eddie the Eagle do” – out of head! Someone who never gave up and kept his goal in mind however ludicrous it seemed to anyone else.
I really hope you all have a fabulous 2017, whether you are planning for it or not. There is still loads of time to get your dreams off the ground. Heck you can start in February if you like! And if and when you do, I can’t recommend the Leonie Dawson Planners highly enough.
Have wonderful start to the New Year

Hi Chery,
I don’t think it matters what your planner looks like as long as it works for you 🙂
Happy New Year to you too.

Wow I’m impressed. one of my goals this year is to plan more but I’m pleased that I just have my January planned! I do like your MADCAST. I may think of one for myself for my daily goals. Keep at it xx

I’ll be honest, I’m still creating my plan, my path. Yet my BSAG (big, scary a** goal) is to retire myself from corporate America by my 45th birthday in November.
Yeah, it seems like an impossible one, until I remember 2012, when I set my intention to live near the beach by the end of the year. I accomplished that in 9 months.
Like you, fearless is one of my words, the other being authentic. I have a story to tell and I’m gonna tell it.
Happy New Year!

Inspiring Beth! And I’m glad to see that you are actually doing something with your “word” because so many people invest all their time in finding a word and then do nothing with it! My theme for this year is “breaking barriers” and like you I have an impressive list of challenges all lined up. I won’t wish you “luck” because I don’t believe luck has anything to do with a life well lived. I think this is going to be a great year. Of course, it could be a mediocre year and still be a vast improvement over 2016!

Yowsa, Beth. 200 goals? You have more energy than I do. I hope you meet every one of them 🙂 And that if you don’t you’ll just keep plowing ahead anyway!
My most immediate goal is to set up a blog calendar for 2017. I’ve got lots of ideas, but I need to put them down on paper and then into my computer. I am also busy working on my first big product for PrepperNut, which I’m very excited about.
Thanks for letting me take a ride on your 2017 enthusiasm.

Blog calenders are a great way to keep on track! All the best with your goals and your new product.

Hi Marquita,
All the best with breaking barriers. I really like the sound of that.

Hi Beth,
Planning monster – I do like Leoni Dawson
planners & calendars. had some a few years back. This year it’s a
simple I AM VERY BUSY turquoise book. My action word for the year “building bridges”
Getting it done one day at a time. Great article !
January 8, 2017 at 7:06 pm
I love it Beth!
Very inspiring, I did not use a planner before, but definitely will start one 🙂
Thank you for sharing!
January 8, 2017 at 7:12 pm
Well, this is really impressive, Beth! I’m rooting for you in achieving just about everything you’ve set out to do! You can do it!
Like you, I’m a planner, too. But, as you say, leave some room for spontaneity, too! That will add some of your spice to life. Be alert, look for new experiences and new opportunities while staying on the path so to speak.
I love what your doing and the organizers!
Oh, my word for 2017 is “Manifest.” This word will remind me to focus on what I want to “manifest” this year — both in my personal life and business.

Hi Beth
I saw this idea from picking a word for the year from Marquita and you have applied it so well for 2017. I like the word FEARLESS
I like to plan for the year but it is awesome that you have so much goals this year.
Thanks for sharing. Take Care
January 11, 2017 at 6:55 pm
Hey Beth, my goal this year is to stick to the planner. I always start then back to the pieces of paper again which get lost or overwhelming to go through. I actually ordered my daughter one of the planners you use she loves it.
January 15, 2017 at 3:59 am
Hi Beth,
Fearless, eh? Love it! But, that’s a lotta goals – even for you. I’m not betting against you though.
For 2017, my words are 2: Positive Thoughts, which I think is a big improvement over positive thinking. Good post, thank you,
Edward

Great! good to see that I am not the only ready to kick some A… this year. Thank you for sharing. That is motivating to read you lined out 2017 game plan. I have picked my motto as well. My word of the year is ACTION! my next action step is draw it all out and run with it. Thanks again. You ROCK!
January 29, 2017 at 6:16 pm
Wow! I love your 200 goals and your MADCAST word! I didn’t even pick a word for 2017 because that never really seems to work for me. I do have goals, but not anywhere close to 200!
February 1, 2017 at 9:32 pm
Hi Ruth, thanks for your comment. I have ticked a few things off my 200 list but still lots of things to do. Hope you had a great January. Beth 🙂
