Why I’m Using Empire Avenue in My Blog Marketing Strategy.

Why I’m Using Empire Avenue in My Blog Marketing Strategy.

What is Empire Avenue & Why do I need to know about it?

Empire Avenue is social networking and a social stock market game allowing you to buy and sell shares in people based on their social status and ranking.  Each player has their own portfolio in a virtual economy. The price of a player’s shares depends on stock buying and selling coupled with social networking activity. Each player can have investors, and they can invest in other players. Players gain dividends from the other shares in players they invest in, which are counted as credits.

Players can add their social networks to their portfolio and earn credits from the social interactions across all social networks.  It is based on your actual social networking activity and blogging activity, pulled via RSS feeds.  Empire Avenue uses a virtual currency called Eaves.  Eaves can be used to purchase shares in other players, as well as to pay for missions.

Empire Avenue

What the heck is a Mission?

Missions are where it gets interesting.  You can take part in missions to earn more Eaves, or you can create your own mission and give other players Eaves in exchange for them carrying out an activity for you.

Why you should use Missions

Hmmm…What could you get people to do?

[red_arrow_list width=”100%”]

  • Pay players to leave a comment on your blog or share it with their followers.
  • Pay players to LIKE your fan page and interact on your Facebook Fanpage.
  • Pay players to recommend you on LinkedIn
  • Pay players to Google+1 a blog post
  • Pay players to Retweet one if your tweets

These are all free ways to get more eyeballs on your social content.  It is also a great way to connect with new people and bests of all, most people on Empire Avenue are very socially active, because it is in their interests in order to make more Eaves.

Don’t be put off that this is a game.  Once you have got your head around the concept, it is really easy to do and I am now incorporating it in to my social marketing plan whenever I create new content on line.

If you want to have a closer look at Empire Avenue you can do so here.  Yes I’ll get credited some Eaves but you will too :)

I have been using Empire Avenue for quite some time. I love using the missions to build likes or views for video’s. You can also use them to retweet your content around the web and reach more people.

The key when you first get started is to go in everyday and complete some missions. But don’t use those eaves to buy missions for yourself. Use them to invest in other people.

For example, if Beth were to have a mission for 5000 eaves you would go in and complete it. Then use those 5000 eaves to invest in Beth.

As a result you will make eaves off of Beth’s social activity and you will raise your own stock price. Thus more people will invest in you.

Think of it as the stock market, the more activity you have, the more you make, the more you can spend.

    Hey Beth!
I’m a member of Empire Avenue but haven’t yet used it the way you explain – You ROCK! I’ll apply everything as you list and see what happens. I’ve moved up in ranks as I’ve connected my social media profiles and have gained points for different activity levels.
I too wrote a blog about using Empire Ave but yours explains it heaps better!

This is an interesting concept. How is Google taking this? While it is a great way to engage with a lot of people and gaining some reputation online, Google is keeping watch a inorganic traffic.

That is a great point, I like to see it as you are making new relationships, being more social and if you are providing great content that is targeted and if that is then shared by others. The right people will find it and come to your site anyway.

      Beth :)
